I asked a question previously that wasn't answered so I will redirect it in ref. to spa hook ups. The CEC states that pools and spa's be grounded (bonded) with no smaller than a #6 bare copper conductor. When an NMWU 6/3 or 8/3 is used is this jacketed ground not sufficent? If not then I haven't seen many that had a #6 bare travelling beside the feeder from spa to panel.
On the same question if you would bond the spa or pool with #6 would it be OK if it were bonded at the sub panel for the pool service that feeds the pump motor and lights even though the sub panel is supplied by an 6/3 or 8/3 (#8 & #10 bare copper), or does it have to return to the main service entry? I hope someone can respond to this inquerry.

*Size Of Bond Conductor For Spas And Hot Tubs*
In Ontario,
Question: Is the bond conductor in a cable assembly acceptable as complying with 68-402?
Answer: Yes.
Rationale: Our Residential Workshop manual page 59 states the bonding conductor shall not be smaller than the circuit conductors as per 68-402 and then goes on to say the bonding conductor in a cable assembly is acceptable.
Memo 68-26-92 advised that bonding conductors sized in accordance with Table 16 are acceptable and meet the intent of the code.
